The Proposals

The 8.6-hectare site is located to the east of Molesey Road on the northern edge of Hersham. The site is largely hidden from the surrounding area by existing development, mature hedgerows and woodland.

Between 1950-2001, the site was used for the sand and gravel extraction, with subsequent infilling using construction and demolition materials. Fairview New Homes is now bringing forward proposals to redevelop this previously used land to provide much-needed new homes.

The plans include:

  • Up to 290 homes of which 50% will be affordable homes
  • Significant financial contributions to Elmbridge, including approximately £4 million through Community Infrastructure Levy and S106 obligations
  • Predominantly three and four-bedroom family homes, alongside a mix of one to three-bedroom apartments for those who want to downsize or get onto the property ladder
  • A design that respects the sites surroundings and reflects the existing housing stock in the area in line with the adopted Elmbridge design code
  • Publicly accessible open space, including dedicated children’s play areas
  • Sustainable travel promoted and infrastructure designed to encourage walking, cycling, and the use of public transport
  • Ecological enhancements
  • Support for the local economy through employment and investment during the construction phase
